Juvenile Court Division
The Juvenile Court Clerk’s Office is required by law to maintain all case files and documents in accordance with the Georgia Record
Retention Schedule for Juvenile Court. Juvenile records are confidential and are not open to the general public. This is in accordance with
O.C.G.A 15-11-82 with specific exemptions to school, law enforcement officers, counsel for a party and other judicial officials. Proper
picture ID is required for any request of case of case information or copies from either the juvenile, parent or legal guardian. The juvenile
court has jurisdiction concerning complaints and/or petitions filed for persons under the age of 17, with the exception of certain criminal
offenses such as murder, rape, manslaughter, armed robbery, etc. When committed by a 13-17 year old, these specific offenses would be
under the Superior Court Jurisdiction.
