Columbus-Muscogee County Emergency Management and Homeland Security will join the Georgia Emergency Management Agency/HS and the National Weather Service in recognizing Thursday, November 4, as Georgia’s Fall Severe Weather Preparedness Day. This is a great opportunity for schools, businesses, and individuals to take part in a severe weather exercise/tornado drill around 9:30 a.m.

The Columbus Consolidated Government, in partnership with The Landfill Group, is pleased to announce the grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) Facility located at the Pinegrove Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) Landfill, 9000 Pinegrove Way, Columbus, Georgia.

Notice is hereby given that the local Government of Columbus, Georgia will altr or suspend all services on Wednesday, November 11, 2026.  This is with the exception of emergency services such as fire, police, and ambulance.  For emergency services, please call the 911 Emergency Center. 

The Columbus Consolidated Government will host the 19th Annual Hometown Connection Legislative Agenda Meeting on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Sycamore Room at the Columbus Convention & Trade Center.

Columbus Consolidated Government and Courts of Muscogee County will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the John D. Allen Judicial Center on Friday, October 30, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. Community members and members of the media are invited to attend.
